Bellmore JFK 1, Wantagh 0: Eric Soto scored the games only goal of the game on a header after Jason Bergman served the ball to the back post with 22 minutes remaining to lead No. 9 Bellmore JFK (8-4-3) over No. 1 Wantagh in a Nassau Class A quarterfinal. Hunter Brodman started the play with a corner kick that he sent to Bergman. Wantagh had two opportunities in the final 90 seconds but put one ball over the net and Jake Silverman, who made three saves, ended the final threat to secure Bellmore's 10th shutout of the season. "They came with heart and determination to prove that we are much better than our seed," Bellmore JFK head coach Jason Elias said. "Our defense, led by our seniors, proved again that we're going to be a tough out." Bellmore JFK moves on to play the winner of Bethpage/South Side in the semifinals on Friday at 6pm at Hofstra.
