HIGHLIGHTS
Lawrence 35, Hewlett 20: Jordan Fredericks, in his first start at tailback, ran for 267 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries to lead Lawrence (4-1) in a come from behind win over Hewlett in Conference III. After getting possession with 23 seconds left in the first half, Lawrence went 65 yards on four plays, with Victor Mintz's 21-yard touchdown pass from Joe Capobianco punctuating the drive as time expired to cut the Hewlett's lead to one score after Capobianco ran for a successful two-point conversion. After Lawrence forced a turnover on downs to open the third, Capobianco capped a five-play, 65-yard drive with a 4-yard TD run to give Lawrence a one-point lead. Defensive end Melik Mavruk had nine tackles, including four for a loss of yards, to help prevent Hewlett from scoring in the second half, and Dimitri Samuels had seven tackles at defensive tackle.
