Sewanhaka 15, Hempstead 0: Senior right-hander Brian Murphy pitched a perfect game, allowing no runs, no hits, no base runners and 14 strikeouts for Sewanhaka in its county wide victory. It was only Murphy's fifth career varsity start and he made it through the game throwing only 69 pitches. "He’s been throwing well in the gym but we’ve been on the field only four or five times," head coach Mike Ryan said. "To come out of the gate and throw the way he did was a little unexpected." Murphy also went 3-for-4 with a double and a triple and two RBIs.
