Wheatley vs Carle Place

Wheatley 6, Carle Place 5: Brian Doria's two-run double in the top of the sixth inning gave No. 2 Wheatley (12-7) a 6-4 lead as the Wildcats defeated No. 3 Carle Place in the first round of the Nassau B playoffs. Carle Place tied the score at 4 in the fourth. Mike Cunney went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored for Wheatley. James McPhillips pitched four innings of relief and stranded the tying run on second base to earn the win. Will Feil went 2-for-4 with a run. Wheatley will face Oyster Bay in the Nassau B final at 4 p.m. on May 23 at Hofstra.
