The lefthander featured a sharp curveball and a fastball in the mid-to-high 80s in going through the Bulldogs lineup, Bethpage coach Rob Fisher said. Chuck Hoffman prevented a single in the second inning, quickly fielding a blooper to right and making the throw to first before the runner reached. Jake Vera’s RBI single in the second scored Nick Marino, who later had an RBI single for the Golden Eagles (3-4). Island Trees is 4-3.
