East Rockaway vs Wheatley

East Rockaway 18, Wheatley 17: Firstbaseman Billy Humes threw out the potential tying run at home on a relay throw from right field to win the game for East Rockaway (3-3, 3-2) in a six-inning affair in Conference BC. Wheatley's Andrew Hastings hit a double with two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth that scored two runs to bring the score to 18-17, but Humes threw out the runner trying to score from first base to end the game. East Rockaway trailed 12-3 in the third, but a three-run double by Damian Ammuridin in the fourth made it 12-9 and fueled a nine-run inning that tied the score at 12. The Rocks followed that up with a five-run fifth to take a 17-12 lead behind Mike Delgais' two-out RBI single. David McClure went 2-for-3 with two walks and four runs scored.
