Southold 4, Greenport 0: Sophomore Alex Poliwoda threw a no-hitter, the first of his career, in Southold's 4-0 win over Greenport yesterday. Poliwoda struck out 11 and walked five. "He was in command of his pitches and sailed through the middle innings," coach Mike Carver said. He caught five of his 11 strikeout victims looking, according to Carver. "He kept them guessing, had his breaking ball working, and was moving them around," Carver said. "The movement on his fastball kept him dominant." Shayne Johnson led off the game with a home run. "That was all we needed," Carver said. Anthony Fedele was 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Rob Mahoney went 2-for-3 with two RBI's for Southold (3-2) in League IX.
