Southampton 5, Mattituck 1: Wyatt Schmidt pitched a complete game two-hitter with an unearned run, two walks and seven strikeouts to lead No. 1 Southampton (19-2) over No. 3 Mattituck in the Suffolk Class B Final. This Southampton's third county championship in five years according to coach Ike Birdsall. "I'm happy for the kids, they've worked hard all year for this," Birdsall said. "I'm lucky to coach such a great group of kids that I have here." Schmidt, who is now 8-0 on the year, also went 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI. "He's been as dependable as can be at the plate and on the mound," Birdsall said. "He's a great kid to coach." Alex Soyars went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs and Eddie McLaughlin went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in the fifth, one RBI and two runs. Henry Egan went 1-for-2 with a walk and two runs.
