Plainedge 9, Seaford 7: Jimmy Mendyk's RBI single scored GianFranco Soriente in the fifth inning to give Plainedge an 8-7 lead. Earlier in the inning, Soriente's RBI double scored Ray Flynn to tie the game at 7. Flynn and Mendyk each went 3-for-4 in the win. Anthony Pensato went 2-for-3 with a solo home in the second inning and a double in the sixth inning. After pitching a complete game in Plainedge's Game 1 win on Monday, Justin Trigo pitched an inning and two-thirds of perfect relief, striking out the last two batters of the game to earn the save. Plainedge (19-8) will play the Clarke/Island Trees series winner in the Class A finals on Monday at SUNY-Farmingdale.
